Pediatrician Profile

My appreciation of medicine began in high school through Medical Explorers, which exposed youth to medicine through hospital experiences and medical lectures. In college, I approached medicine through bioengineering. During summer breaks, I enjoyed working with children as a recreation leader, helping advance medicine in a lab, or assisting at NASA as an engineer. I also volunteered as an adolescent counselor and a labor and delivery aide.

While in graduate school, I realized I was passionate about directly helping children and decided to apply to medical school. As I applied, I worked with the neonatologists at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and found myself drawn to the babies. This solidified what I already knew: I wanted to become a pediatrician.

I practice evidence-based holistic medicine. Any intervention is a shared decision between the family and me to develop an individualized plan. My job is to empower families to raise their children to live up to their healthiest potential.

I am also fortunate to be able to guide families in the prevention of uncontrolled chronic disease, such as allergies, asthma and eczema. I strongly support breastfeeding and am a Charter Member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. I enjoy the uniqueness of each patient, and many moments bring me joy, like guiding a mom to successfully breastfeed, teaching a patient with asthma to breathe easier or reconnecting depressed teenagers with their parents.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring with my kids, walking, gardening, line dancing, and volunteering in our community.
