Neurologist Profile

I really like to help people. I know it's a cliché, but that's what inspired me to get into medicine. Knowing that you can save someone's life, heal them or ease their pain is why I go to work each day.

I'm a general neurologist and care for patients age 18 and older. Some of the conditions I treat include stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, memory loss, headaches, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders and multiple sclerosis. I have a special interest in caring for patients with refractory epilepsy and dementia.

My patients describe me as someone who is caring and compassionate. I want to listen to their stories and answer any questions or concerns they might have. What brings me the most joy is when I'm able to help a patient and they are happy with the care they received.

The brain is fascinating to me. There's no other organ in the body like it. The brain defines who you are as a person. As a neurologist, I have to be able to deal with uncertainty. Not everything is black and white. For example, one patient could suffer from a small stroke and have a lot of symptoms; but another patient could suffer from a similar stroke and recover quickly. Every person is unique.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy traveling, meeting new people and spending time with my children.
