Professional Profile

I chose to be a physician because it provides an opportunity to do so much good. Whether you are treating individual patients or populations of people, you have the ability to help people at a very vulnerable time. It is extremely gratifying work.

As an otolaryngologist, I care for patients and treat health issues of the ears, nose and throat. I see a wide variety of patients, from little children to grown adults and treat a wide variety of issues, from people with hearing loss to sinus issues and tonsils or neck issues. That variety is part of what attracted me to this specialty.

I also like that I am able to find solutions or improvements so that my patients can find relief for their health issue. I really enjoy offering my patients options and solutions that are achievable and seeing the improvement in their life.

When a patient first comes to me, I view it as the beginning of a long-term relationship. I want to build trust with them and I am very detail oriented, gathering as much information as I can so that we can figure out together how to best move forward.

For patients, meeting a new doctor can be stressful and they can feel anxious. They want someone that will listen to them and hear them out and be willing to offer a range of options and explain the pros and cons of each of those options. That’s what I try to be for my patients.

Ear, nose and throat medicine is unique. We manage care both medically and surgically. My goal is to get my patient’s problem managed medically and use surgery as a last resort.

When I am not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, antiquing and online shopping.
