Herkanwal Singh Khaira, MD
Urology, Urologic Surgery, Urologic Oncology, Robotic SurgeryBeing a urologist is a nice blend of interacting with patients and using science to help solve problems, and I like that. My goal is to help improve a patient's quality of life.
I see children and adults, both men and women. I treat patients with a variety of issues: cancers of the kidneys, bladder or prostate, along with people who have urinary problems or kidney stones.
I'm a conscientious doctor. I like to take the time to get to know my patients and figure out the exact problem that's bothering them. My favorite part about my job is seeing patients after a successful treatment. Most urological cancers are highly curable. I love being able to "fix" the problem.
After someone makes an appointment with me, I want him or her to have a good understanding of their condition and what the next steps are. I want them to feel like they are in good hands. I don't want someone to feel like they are at the mercy of the doctor's decision, but rather an active participant in their own care.
My three young children keep me pretty busy. In my spare time, I like reading, running and watching sports. My family and I also enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures.

Below is a list of plans accepted by all NorthBay Health providers unless designated as an independent community doctor.
While we strive to keep this list up to date, it's always a good idea to check with your health plan to determine the specific details of your coverage, and to contact the provider's office to verify acceptance of your particular plan.
