Both of my grandfathers served in the military, and one was a general surgeon. I listened to their stories growing up and absorbed their values, which led me to join the U.S. Air Force and become a neurosurgeon. As a neurosurgeon, I can offer surgical treatment to patients with disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems --- but my kids would tell you I am a “brain and back doctor,” and they would be right too!
I grew up in Chico, CA, and still have strong ties to the area. After earning my medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine, I completed my residency at the Mayo Clinic. I served in the Air Force as a staff neurosurgeon out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA, and deployed to Afghanistan during that time.
I joined NorthBay Healthcare after additional training at UCSF in complex spine surgery, and am happy to work here with a wonderful, multidisciplinary team of physicians and surgeons. I am dedicated to providing advanced and compassionate care to my patients, who I treat as family. Together, each patient and I decide whether surgery is the best option for them, carefully considering their wishes and personal circumstances.
When not at work, I can be found grilling dinner for my family, running local trails, or reading several books at a time.
