NorthBay’s NEW Ambulatory Network Strategy
It’s an exciting time to be a Solano County resident. NorthBay has officially launched our new, expansive Ambulatory Network Strategy (ANS) that will help us continue our mission to provide advanced and compassionate healthcare throughout Solano County and the broader North Bay region.
Like all we do at NorthBay Health, our vision for the future is rooted in the community. Our new ANS isn’t just about growth in the near term—it’s about building the next phase of NorthBay that will meet the evolving needs of our neighbors for years to come.
While many hospitals are cutting costs and consolidating services, we recognize that by 2030, there will be an even greater demand for convenient, accessible, high-quality care that is not delivered in the hospital setting.
The ANS represents our commitment to going beyond care. We are not only a future leaning healthcare provider, but also a neighbor committed to being part of the fabric of our rich community by providing convenient care and health education that addresses your concerns.
In fact, the ANS is a result of the perspectives we’ve gathered of more than 250 clinical and administrative staff members and over 100 internal and external interviews with NorthBay Health and community leaders to help us pinpoint the evolving needs of patients and the future of healthcare for Solano County.
Our vision for 2030 extends beyond the hospital walls; it’s about meeting our patients and communities where they are and providing our patients with high-quality, compassionate care throughout their lives.
Over the next six years, we plan to invest over $250 million dollars to expand NorthBay’s footprint. Specifically, we will create 6-10 neighborhood primary care centers by 2030, ensuring that every resident is within 15 minutes of a primary care clinic.
But we won’t stop there. Specialty Hubs will also be within 30 minutes of every resident, enhancing quicker access to labs, pharmacy, and imaging services and creating increased focus on health and wellness. NorthBay Health physician, Dr. Ehsan Ghods, shares his enthusiasm for this initiative: “Through the ANS, patients will be able to receive care closer to their homes and centers of their daily activities. The first location in Rio Vista is just the beginning of increased accessibility and convenience of care for all NorthBay Health patients.”
With these new facilities, NorthBay Health will establish a standard that all new primary care patients receive an appointment within 7 days and specialty patients within 14 days.
You might be wondering…how will we make all of this happen? By 2030, we will:
- Add 45 net new physicians and advanced practitioners in primary care;
- Bolster our specialty network by adding 90 net new physicians and advanced practitioners; and
- Establish centralized referral, access, recruitment, and call centers.
These initiatives will support the ANS and generate job opportunities in our community.
It is clear to us that our community’s needs are changing. NorthBay Health’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Behl, is aware of this and says, “Our new Ambulatory Network Strategy represents the first step towards our 2030 vision for the future so that we can meet our community’s evolving needs. Our patients are looking for care that is nearby, quick, with minimal wait times, and we are confident our ANS will advance our goal of becoming the provider of choice and the most conveniently accessible provider in Solano County.”
We hope you share in our excitement for all that the ANS will bring and stay tuned as we unveil more about our ANS journey.
